Description

Centreless grinding machine by Lidköpings Mekaniska Verkstads AB (Sweden) for through-feed and in-feed (plunge) grinding. Classic mechanical-hydraulic design without CNC: grey cast iron base, grinding wheel and regulating wheel with the workrest blade between them, belt drive with two speed steps selected by change pulleys. Until recently the machine was connected and in use at a precision shop in Swabia roughly once a month; it was released purely for space reasons. It comes with an unusually complete set of accessories: 14 grinding wheels and 4 regulating wheels, 4 mounting flanges and 28 workrest blades — so the machine is ready to work without further purchasing. For the 2C series, service, spare parts and overhaul are still available in Germany and from the brand owner in Sweden.

Machine strengths
  • Centreless grinding needs no centring and no clamping fixture: the part rests on the workrest blade between grinding and regulating wheel — set-up time per part is practically zero, giving very short cycle times in series production
  • A set of accessories that rarely comes with a used machine of this class: 14 grinding wheels, 4 regulating wheels, 4 mounting flanges and 28 workrest blades. The workrest blade is the wear part that defines the workpiece size — 28 of them cover a wide diameter range and save you a custom-made blade on the very first job
  • Through-feed and in-feed operation in one machine: bars, pins and rollers run through, shouldered parts are plunge-ground
  • Purely mechanical-hydraulic design without CNC — no control electronics that can be discontinued; maintainable with standard components
  • Heavy grey cast iron structure of approx. 2.3 t on a footprint of only about 1.95 × 1.10 m — the mass works as damping while the space requirement stays small
  • Two speed steps via change pulleys, with the assignment to wheel diameter documented directly on the machine's drive table — cutting speed can be kept in range even as the wheel is dressed down
  • Relay control in a walk-up cabinet: clear, measurable, repairable without special diagnostics
  • Service, spare parts and overhaul for the 2C series are still available — from a specialist in Germany and from the brand owner in Sweden
Typical applications
  • Pins, bolts, dowel pins and parallel pins — through-feed grinding to final diameter
  • Shafts, axles and round bars in series, also as preparation for cylindrical grinding between centres
  • Rollers, sleeves and bushings — outside diameter in a single pass
  • Tubes and bar stock to size and roundness
  • Shouldered parts with collar or step — by in-feed (plunge) grinding
  • Rework and repair of precision parts in tool shops and contract manufacturing
Scope of delivery
  • Machine complete: grinding wheel head, regulating wheel head with workrest blade, grey cast iron base, change-pulley drive with speed table
  • Separate control cabinet with relay control and compressed-air service unit — fully equipped as shown in the photos
  • Separate hydraulic power unit with ASEA motor, pump, filter and tank
  • Feed chute for through-feed operation — mounted on the machine
  • 14 grinding wheels and 4 mounting flanges
  • 4 regulating wheels
